Papillon Issues!!!!

Unfortunatly in the last few weeks since Roxy has been allowed outside we've noticed some issues that she has! She does not like other dogs and is very scared of them, she hides growls and snaps if they come near her. We are working on this attending puppy play group at the vets and meeting lots of calm quiet dogs. She is improving but very very slowly and its baby steps all the way, fingers crossed though we'll be able to get it so shes comfortable being around other dogs.

The second issue were having is a possible health problem. On examination by the vet he noticed a possible problem with her hips, he thinks she may have Perthes disease. It should become more clear in the next couple of months if she has this or if her hips are just 'clicky'. Its a genetic disorder so if she does have this she will be spayed and I'll have to contact her breeder and hopefully they wont breed from their bitch again. Im not sure if the stud owner needs to be imformed as well!

Fun Dog Show

The place where I take my dogs for obediance training held a fun dog show a couple of weeks ago and both Alfie and Roxy did very well :D
Roxy got 1st in the best puppy class, 3rd in the best bitch class and reserve best in show. She also won dog most like its owner which my 8
year old entered her in :D

Alfie got 3rd fastest recall and 3rd waggiest tail.

Roxy Update

Some new pics of Roxy whos now 10 weeks old! Shes settled in well and is proving to very feisty :D Shes also finding the whole concept of toilet training very difficult. SHe has started to (occasionally) answer to her name.

Her 2nd injection is on Monday and shes coming camping with us to the New Forrest. Cant wait to get her out on some short walks with our other dog Alfie.

Getting Excited

Tomorrow afternoon I get to go see my pup : )

Ive got new vet bed for the crate, a fleece blanket to put in with mam, puppy bowl and Ive dug out Alfies puppy collar.

Ive also ordered her a lovely dog tag, its a pink red dingo one with a flower on. Alfie has the same kind in baby blue with a paw print and there brilliant quality.

I need to go dig out my cat crate to bring her home in and then Im all sorted to get her on Saturday!!!

The big name debate has started, my three girls all have different ideas on what it should be. So far we have Phoebe, Pookie, Daisy, Lola and Roxy so any suggestions are more then welcome :)

Ive spent lots of today on websites looking at other peoples papillons and breed clubs. Hopefully I'll be joining one at some point soon.

This is Alfie my little mix pup.

Ive been showing him in fun shows and he got 1st prize in the best puppy class his first time out. So i was very pleased with him.

We also go to puppy classes weekly and Alfie has just got his puppy award via the Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme. Hes ready to sit his Bronze Award so we'll be getting tested in the next couple of weeks.

New Blog

Hi, my names Emma and I'm just starting out in the world of papillons and showing : )

On Saturday Im picking up my new papillon puppy who will be joining my other dog Alfie whos a 5 mth old bichon x schnauzer. Having two pups at the same time is going to be hard work but hopefully a lot of fun too!

Hopefully we will start showing in December once she reaches 6 mths.
